Berring has condensed what is essentially a legal research philosophy into text and it manages to capture some of his humor fairly well. This is mostly about an approach to legal research and a first-time legal researcher's best friend - his discussion of research ranges from completely practical and focused on methods, to Britney Spears hypos, to leads on any number of areas of legal research topics. I read it again after beginning my first job after law school and came away with a new appreciation for how helpful it really was.
Berring is highly recommended, as a professor, accomplice, and writer - this is an excellent resource.
