Book Reviews of Because of Winn-DixieBook Review: I enjoyed this book Summary: 5 Stars
Because of Winn-Dixie is a great book because it can help orphan kids. It is about a ten year old girl whose name
is India Opal and her daddy was a preacher. Her mom left her when she was 3 years old. Her mom was an
alcoholic and the dad was a preacher. She thought that being a preacher's wife was not right because she
was alcoholic and she decided to leave them behind.
My favorite part was when the dog scared Ms.Franny. Well she thought it was a bear. Well the dog was standing
at the front window to see India Opal all the time and Miss Franny looked up and she was scared .
This book is good for everyone especially in families.

Book Review: People weren't designed to be alone, and neither were dogs Summary: 5 Stars
This is a sweet story told in first person. It's a character-driven book that doesn't have much of a plot other than Opal and Winn-Dixie's adventures together. Things do come together for a strong ending, but it's a drama, not an action adventure, so though it might not appear to be the book for everyone, I think everyone would enjoy it to a certain degree. It's really short and could be read in a day. What I liked most is that even though life is hard, it is what you make it. So you could sit in your house and entertain yourself, alone, or you could go out and instigate friendships. It might not be easy at first, but a friendship is always worth the effort. People weren't designed to be alone, and neither were dogs. Highly recommended.
Book Review: Student Review from Ms. Gehrke's Class Summary: 5 Stars
Because of Winn-Dixie is a really great book for 7-10 year olds. It's about a girl named India Opal Buloni who finds a poor dog at a grocery store. Everyone was yelling at the dog and tells them the dog is hers. She names the dog Winn-Dixie.
India goes to the pet store to get a leash for Winn-Dixie. Right when India puts the leash on, Winn-Dixie runs away. He runs to an old woman's house. India becomes great friends with the old lady, Gloria.
I really like this book because India is always trying to do the right thing and is really friendly to others.
The rest of the book is yours to read!

Velvet Ball and The Broken Fairy (Series Novel)
I absolutely loved this story and have read it numerouse times. I loved the little girl, Opal, and the beautiful stray dog, named after the town. The characters in this story are fun and the story moves alon at a fast pace. The characters seemed real and i'm sure this story would be enjoyed by all age groups. The names like franny Brock are hillarious, just like some of the characters.
I highly recomend this book. It's sits in a special place in my bookcase.
Book Review: One of the first books I read at school and I liked Summary: 5 Stars
This was one of my favorite books in the century. Also, it was one of the first books I was read to. (I read it at 4th grade) I extra-extra-extra-super-ultra-wonderfully enjoyed this book due to the well-woven plots. The main character Opal is a daughter of a preacher, whose wife ran away. It is a usual background for most of the Newbery awards. 1 tragic family. 2 Makes a new friend 3. Lives get better 4. Finds the conclusion and happy ever after.
Although Opal never finds her mother, she does befriend a woman who resembles her mother.
After all, it is a very good book, and I recommend it to everyone.
