One of the better books on a nutritional approach to cancer. The lung cancer had struck suddenly and violently my husband.
The operation, and then the chemiotherapy were successful but debilitating.
Doctors know little about nutrition. From where get some advice, useful hints, precious information?
Here comes this wonderful book, BEATING CANCER WITH NUTRITION,by P. Quillin,that I still keep on consulting, after five years from the operation. In the circle of my family, everybody knows about this book. And a young member of the family said: " I want to keep a personal copy of it. It looks very good also for prevention, not only for cure".
By the way, my husband is sound and kicking...

My Oncologist and his staff kept saying things like " we're not really sure, but...you might want to avoid eating (that) just in case". Dr. Quillan in this book answers many of the questions I had about how my dietary choices might interact with my chemo and radiation treatments. I especially appreciated the audio CD. Cut # 5 specifically answered many of the questions that had stumped my doctors. This really puts you on the right track to attack your cancer from every angle... even ones that your own doctors may have ignored. All cancer patients need to read this book! The executive summary is worth it alone. I always like books written by people with both academic credentials and real world experience and Quillin has both. When you have someone that has dealt with hundreds (maybe thousands) of patients, he has a chance to see what works and what does not... backed up with lots of studies and common sense. You can get a lot out of it just be browsing if too tired/stressed to read it all ... start with the 10 page executive summary in front. After checking many books referred by friends and my own research, my oncologist recommended this book. I had stage 4 metastasized breast cancer and it has been my best guide and reference of the dozens of books that I have. I am almost done with treatment and it continues to be the guide for my next step. Combining nutrition and traditional treatments made my side effects almost nil as I continued to work full time. This will be the primary book I refer anybody that asks about preventing or treating cancer. The right Doctor helps tremendously.
