Book Reviews of Beating Cancer with Nutrition, book with CDBook Review: An excellent resource if you want to "Help yourself!" Summary: 5 Stars
I am an RN who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in July 2009. After initiating a fairly comprehensive nutritional review, I found Dr. Quillin's book on nutritional support shortly thereafter. I found Dr. Quillin's "philosophy" of cancer to be very similar to mine (but better developed) and found the guidance to be extremely helpful and encouraging during a time that was personally overwhelming. Written simply and in a straightforward manner, this book pointed me in a direction where I still had some control, which was very important to me. I adopted many of the recommendations in this book and have recently completed 6 treatment cycles of with two different chemotherapy drugs and have tolerated the chemo extremely well, due in great part, IMO, to the nutritional support I incorporated as a result of this book.
Book Review: I never knew... Summary: 5 Stars
Wow...this book is amazing in how it explains how nutrition is SO important to each and every one of us, but especially to those of us with cancer. I find myself sharing bits and pieces of it with all my friends when they ask me what's new with me...since "Well, I have cancer." isn't really new anymore to some of them.
Once you become a cancer patient, your life becomes dr appt after dr appt without really much to discuss, but having new information that effects not only me, but my friends as well...well THAT is something worth having when your life is changed so drastically with a cancer diagnosis.
Have you been diagnosed with cancer and want to beat it down so it never comes back? Have a loved one in that situation? BUY THIS BOOK. You'll be glad you did.
Book Review: Contolling my PSA with Dr. Quillin's book Summary: 5 Stars
I went to Barnes and Noble, after my PSA returned after surgery and radiation therapy, to buy the book "How we Die", I couldn't find it. Instead I came across Dr. Quillin's book and cd. I briefly read through it and told myself, I've got nothing to lose, so I gave it a try and here I am today to thank him. It really does work, if you have the discipline. The problem I've encountered with my friends who have been diagnosed with cancer, is that they are scared and invariably go for whatever their doctor thinks is best for them. That's why I just buy them the book and hope they read it and try to show them by my example that you really can improve your odds of survival if you are willing to give up the things that are harmful and focus on the things that are good for you.
Book Review: A MUST READ!!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Beating Cancer With Nutrition is a must read for anyone who has cancer or knows anyone with cancer. I was diagnosed with a stage 4 melanoma and was not given the proper information by my oncologist. What you don't know can kill you! My oncologist told me there was nothing I could do or eat to help my cause. I found this book and realized there were so many things as far as nutrition that would help my body fight off cancer. This book completely opened my eyes to the importance of nutrition in the fight and recovery process in dealing with cancer. For some reason western medicine wants to ignore the fact that nutrition plays a vital role in survival. If you or anyone you know is dealing with cancer, get this book immediately. It could save your life!!!!!!
Book Review: Beating Cancer With Nutrition Summary: 5 Stars
Beating Cancer With Nutrition is a must to read for any person diagnosed with cancer. It will educate you on how to prevent a reoccurrence and how to deal with your diagnosis, both alternatively and conventionally. By reading his book, it will introduce you to his formulation of Immuno Power. It will also teach you how to cope with cancer mentally, spritually and physically. Not only is his book easy to read, it is written very well for any lay person to understand. Also Dr. Quillin is available for conferences and I was able to have several phone conferences with him when I was in doubt and when I had some setbacks. I firmly believe that his book would lead any cancer patient on the right track for recovery and prevention.
