Book Reviews of Beating Cancer with Nutrition, book with CDBook Review: No Cancer...But Summary: 5 Stars
I do not have cancer; but I never want it. I am a senior citizen (73YO) with a terrible family health history. I have two stents and try to monitor my health regularly. Lately, I have been feeling ill with almost constant head aches, sleepiness, and lack of energy. A recent nuclear stress test could find no reason for concern. As with many senior citizens, my eating habits are to eat whatever is fast and convenient. I picked up this book knowing that my eating habits were killing me and if proper nutrition helps persons with cancer it could help me. After one week of following many of the recommendations in the book, most of my health complaints are gone or drastically improved; I was working in my garden at 6:00am this morning. There are many scientifically sound facts in this book that the average person does not know and not knowing can kill you. I like Dr. Quillin's practice of telling you that if certain studies suggest a conclusion he states that the studies only suggest that conclusion. Many books claim that one certain food is the magic bullet for optimal health. Dr. Quillin's approach is that many facets of nutrition and life style affect your total health and "one size does not fit all." I firmly believe that the contents of this book should be required study in every high school.
Book Review: Beating Cancer with Nutrition Summary: 5 Stars
This book is a MUST READ for anyone who has or knows someone with cancer OR chronic yeast infections OR chronic sinus infections. Crammed with information about how to make chemo and radiation more selective (kill cancer cells better) without damaging the surrounding good cells. And how to build your immune system up to help fight the cancer and help through the pain and nausea and all the side effects that go with treatment.
It is laced throughout with short stories of patients with various types of cancer and how they survived, even end stage cancers, and how they did it. There are also stories of those who didn't make it and some reasons as to why they didn't.
There are recipes and menus, a section on foods and supplements that help fight cancer, lists of doctors who can help with nutrition, a list of special cancer clinics, places to order organic foods, how to deal with side effects (both allopathic and naturopathic treatments), a list rating foods from the best to the worst, what causes cancer, what feeds cancer - SUGAR, and LOTS of ENCOURAGEMENT which is so important and helpful.

Book Review: The FDA & the FTC Cannot Abide Competition Summary: 5 Stars
Getting cancer is truly a scary experience, especially when one's doctor does little more than offer the shaky prospects of chemotherapy and invasive surgery. In BEATING CANCER WITH NUTRITION, Patrick Quillin counters with a program that works better than conventional methods, is far cheaper, and possesses almost none of the corrosive side effects of harsh radiation. Quillian is in the same camp as Kevin Trudeau (author of "Natural Cures"), in that both believe that most medical doctors deliberately downplay alternative medicine in favor of chemo and surgery. Quillian, however, stays away from the cabal conspiracy between the pharmaceuticals and big business and generously implies that the omission is due more to ignorance than a desire to garner profits over patients. Quillian writes in a style that is compact and informative for the layman. He provides a host of nutritional approaches while adding that cancer is a hydra with many heads, and no one size hat fits all. What I like about this book is that Quillian's obvious sincerity and knowhow shine through, giving a plethora of invaluable information that begins where modern medicine leaves off. BEATING CANCER WITH NUTRITION is a must read for those who refuse to submit to the brutalities of chemistry and the scalpel.
Book Review: Questions, Uncertainty, Calm Summary: 5 Stars
I was told I had pancreatic cancer 3 months ago, I have had chemo, lapraoscopic procedures to determine any metastatic activity and have read several books with subjects ranging from nutrition to spiritual healing. I believe all the facets of healing have merit, however the one book I have read that I can truly understand, in layman's terms, is BEATING CANCER WITH NUTRITION. Dr. Quillin has written this book with an obvious amount of research and understanding of the various challenges cancer patients face.
My previous work experience involved working closely with animal nutritionist as it relates to vitamins, both macro and micro minerals and amino acids. I have experienced proper nutrition in animals and the vast improvements proper nutrition can offer. Needless to say, I should have been following a nutritional protocol that was as well balanced as described above. I might not be experiencing this journey of cancer I'm currently battling. Believe you me, I am following a well balanced nutritional protocol now.
Everyone should read this book. It contains a wealth of information that can do you no harm...no side effects, no pain, no anything but knowledge. Do it...you won't be sorry.
Thank you,

Book Review: EXCELLENT BOOK, A MUST READ!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Words could not express the amount of gratitude I have for the author of this book. My mother was diagnosed with lung cancer three months ago. I started stuffing her with veggies and fruits, etc. as the book recommends (among other things). Upon her follow up appointment with the doctor her blood work was much better. The book gives a lot of helpful information, that the doctors do not tell you about. They tell you to exercize but they never explain WHY... which makes you LEAST likely to comply. Nor do doctors ever tell you to change your diet when you're diagnosed with cancer. They simply tell you to live your life like "normal". As if that is possible when you are faced with the "Big C". The author gives a TON of information about nutrition, supplements, attitude, etc. This book gave us hope that we can take control of the disease and fight back. While skeptics may say that there is no guarantee nutrition will cure cancer, the same can be said of chemo and radiation. This book certainly made me see things in a positive light and gave my mother and my family the faith (along with God) and desire to fight back. I HIGHLY recommend this book to patients and loved ones facing cancer. Together, you CAN beat it.
