Book Reviews of Beating Cancer with Nutrition, book with CDBook Review: must read - wished we read this book the first time C came around Summary: 5 Stars
Thank you for writing this book - although it is more technical, which does the more medical readers a more interesting insight as well. However, the book provided plenty of information in layman terms that you would not feel that you have missed out on any information.
From our experience, we have seen how nutrition has supported RT, Chemo; but we were not as brave not to apply these treatments; we are using RT to 'debulk' the C cells and allow the nutrition to support the body to clean up the rest of the C cells that modern technology can not even detect.
The book is a wealth of information that is so useful for both the patient and the rest of the family! we realized we could be that close to getting C if we dont change our diet drastically, and we have a pretty healthy diet, so I thought.
The book gave us a lot of hope in fighting this C, whereas the doctors have applied a very negative view since we all have learnt there is a huge limitation of what chemo and RT can actually do on its own. We have taken the power back from the doctors and it feels good that we can now take charge by making sure the patient is being feed the food that the body needs. So far so good, even though we have been given the stage IV diagnosis, the doctors have not been able to explain why the tumors have shrunk (this was before treatment and just by changing the diet completely for three weeks before treatment could start)!!! Every body is different, but we know diet is making a huge difference.
it is must read book to allow you to have the power back and take away the feeling that the floor has been taken away from your feet. Choose a doctor that supports your nutrition - it is critical.
Book Review: Beating Cancer with Nutrition Summary: 5 Stars
Several years ago, when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I decided to go with conventional treatment, which in my case included a lumpectomy and 33 radiation treatments, but fortunately, no chemotherapy. However, I decided to look into alternative ways of improving my health as well.
I did alot of research and came across Dr. Quillen's book, "Beating Cancer with Nutrition". It explained in detail how various supplements worked in fighting cancer and I found it very educational and informative.
I discovered that Dr. Quillen had formulated a product called 'ImmunoPower' which contained all the supplements mentioned in his book. It would be very expensive to buy all these supplements separately and would also be inconvenient to swallow handfuls of pills. I decided to try "ImmunoPower".
I had been told that I would experience significant burning and peeling from the radiation and that I would also experience fatigue as the treatments continued. However, the burning and peeling were very minimal and then only began towards the very end of the treatments. I felt little discomfort and the minor burns that I had quickly healed when the treatments ended. I also experienced no fatigue at all and in fact felt more engergized than I had in a long time. Not only did "ImmunoPower" fight the cancer, but I feel that my health in general was benefited by it.
I strongly suggest to those who purchase Dr. Quillen's book, which by the way also includes some very good and nutrional recipes which are easy to fix, also consider trying "ImmunoPower". I have not found anything on the market which compares to it.
Book Review: Beating Cancer with Nutrition Summary: 5 Stars
I am 30 years old and the summer of 2006 I was diagnosed with two cancers a Stage 1B Cervical Cancer and an advanced adenocarcinoma tumor that was just a short ways away from metastizing. I was told that I was going to have to have a radical historectomy and there was a chance that the adenocarcinoma could have already invaded my lymph nodes. Not wanting a radical surgery I had a minor surgery to remove the tumor burden and then went about changing my life style and diet using this book. It is now one year later, I am cancer free and the doctor recinded her recomindation to have the radical surgery. This wasn't easy to do the journey was long but for anyone with the will to try it is definatly a great way to go. One thing I like about Dr. Quillin is he is not out to prove the medical establishment as wrong but to approach the cure in a whole person way and not just with dramatic surgery and chemo. He also talks about nutrition to support a body going through chemo. Oh another side effect of changing my life is I have gone from 217 lbs (in May 2006) to 147 lbs (this May) I feel better than I have in many years and my doctor says I don't look like I have ever been sick. Oh one last thing I made an actually appointment to speak to the author over the phone, he was resonabled priced and very helpful, he actually seemed concerned with making sure I understood what his book was telling me. He only makes appointment one day a month (at least that was the case a year ago.) but I was fortunate to get that day close to when I needed it.
Thank you Dr. Quillian for helping me live a better life.
Book Review: I believe this program definitely works and has merit.. Summary: 5 Stars
I am now a beleiver of the approach and of the Immunopower recommended by Dr.Quillen. My husband was diagnosed with kidney cancer this past year- a total surprise to us as he was initially in the ER for a possible appendicitis scare. The kidney tumor found by accident was measured as at least .50 cm and was said to be (by a top specialist and teacher at a very excellent hospital)to be "very, very, very aggressive in nature-a Furhman grade 3 and possibly a 4" from its appearance on the CAT scan.
I had picked up this book just browsing in a local bookstore before his surgery was to be take place in a month-I figured"Why not?" and ordered the Immunopower. I was fortunate enough to have my husband agree to not only take the Immunopower, but also to follow the eating plan advocated by Dr.Quillen. The good news-the tumor was found to be smaller than initially measured causing it to be Staged at 1 B-and the best news ever-the Fuhrman grade was a 2-and the surgeon said" I am pleased and happily surprised to report that the pathology report showed the Fuhrman grade was Grade 2 and not anywhere as aggressive as I initially thought it to be". We were so fortunate in that the laproscopic surgery to remove his left kidney resulted in the surgeon being able to extract the entire tumor encased in a layer of fat.( While that was not related to Dr.Quillens work, but to some Higher Power and good fortune,) I do believe the Immunopower reduced the aggressiveness of the tumor in a very short time in this case.
Book Review: Informative Summary: 5 Stars
I had gotten this book back in January of 2007, when my mother-in-law had colon cancer. I was the one taking care of her after her surgery and this book was very informative and very helpful. The diet that was given to my mother-in-law after surgery was terrible. Lots of canned food and hidden surgars. They wanted her to gain weight, but the way they were trying to achieve this was absolutely horrible. This book came in handy for me and I was able to change her diet completely. The only thing that she hasn't been able to give up is ice-cream, but other than that we used this book as a bible to help her get healthy.
The doctors wanted her to have kemo and radiation since her cancer marker were so high before the surgery and were still above the mark that they reccomend for treatment, but my mother-in-law decided that since her lymph nodes and all the tissure around the tumor was negative of cancer, she opted out. With diet we were able to bring her markers under the mark that they recommend treatment. I gave her the book and then recently bought another for me to have here at home. They test her blood every three months and every six she has other tests and so far she is doing remarkably well. The doctors are very impressed with her. She also is now walking about six miles a day. She says that walking really makes her feel good and she has her routine that she does, rain or shine.
Thank you Mr. Quillin for writing this book.
