Book Review: Get the NYCB or ABT calendars instead...

These types of ballet calendars irk me. Lots of soft focus pictures of cheap, frilly costumes and grand jetes, roses resting on pointe shoes and the like- not a lot of artistry here at all or dancers you have ever heard of. I think an 11 year old girl would like it, but I would go with ABT, NYCB or San Francisco Ballet's calendars if you are shopping for a more sophisticated balletomane.
The reason these things irk me so much is because when I stop by the calendar cart/kiosk/store/whatever do they stock the other calendars that feature pictures of breathtaking sets, costumes and dancers? No. But they always have this one. Perhaps they are just sold out.
