Book Reviews of Ball Complete Book of Home PreservingBook Review: Easier than ever Summary: 5 Stars
One of the best and most easiest canning books I have ever owned. Very simple instructions that were easy to follow; needless to say I am a beginning canner that has only done pickles, hot peppers and venison. I will be planting and canning a lot more in the future; the most easiest and one of the favorites of all is the baby carrots; don't need to get dirty just buy them at the store, all of the work is basicaly done for you!
Book Review: The logical next step... Summary: 5 Stars
Compared to the Ball Blue Book, this has a lot more recipes and more detailed instructions for the ones that are repeats. Instructions for the actual canning process are very good and include illustrations. The book also includes "tips" for each recipe on things like how to prepare mangos for canning and the best way to seed hot peppers. Overall I believe when you get bored with your "Blue Book" this is a great next step.
Book Review: Really nice book Summary: 5 Stars
When I decided to begin canning, I had no idea what to do. This cookbook has everything you need to know. It's not just a bunch of recipes. Within it you will find instructions on how to prepare your cans and lids, tips for keeping fruit from browning, and dozens of other pieces of advice. Really and excellent resource that goes beyond the typical pickles, tomato sauce, and jams recipes. I would buy it all over again.
Book Review: The perfect book containing everything you need to know about canning... Summary: 5 Stars
This book contains all the info you need to know to safely and creatively can your food. My great-grandmother and mother used to can when I was young, and this book brought back the familiar feeling of their kitchens and the self-confidence that I won't make anything that's a health risk to my family! Plus, I live in France and this book serves as a good resource for classic American recipes and recipes with a twist...
Book Review: Informative and pack with recipes Summary: 5 Stars
This book is packed full of great sounding and even some odd sounding recipes all of which are designed to be canned. Includes information on head space, temperature, canning time etc.. everything you need to know to safely can anything you can think of, and if you need some ideas, this book can help.
