Book Reviews of Ball Complete Book of Home PreservingBook Review: Easy and excellant Summary: 5 Stars
I had purchased my copy of this book a few years ago but really did not use it until this summer when produce was so plentiful. I found it to be a very easy process when following the simple instructions in the book. In fact, I was having so much fun with it that I shared it's existence with my sister who then wanted me to copy some of the recipes for her. Instead, I ordered a copy for here as well. She will receive it as a Christmas gift......in the meantime I am stalling on giving her the recipes requested!!...;)
Book Review: Canning Queen Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this book for my 25 year old daughter, who is now carrying on the tradition of her youth of helping me preserve the bounty of summer. She LOVES the book and says it has a far more varied and unique selection of recipes than ALL of my old canning books combined. The instructions are complete, easy to understand, and ingredients readily available. The selection of recipes really impressed her. Coming from a person in the culinary arts field, that is a compliment! Our family now calls her the "Canning Queen"!

Book Review: First-time Canner Summary: 5 Stars
I used the basic strawberry jam recipe in the book, using FROZEN strawberries to make people Christmas presents. Every single person who got it said that it was the best strawberry jam they've ever had. Even if I just use that one recipe (which I won't), I would say that the book has been worth the purchase already. I had my mom help me make the jam since I had never canned anything before, but I think after doing it once I could do it by myself. We didn't buy anything but the jars, so it worked really well!
Book Review: Clear instructions and great tasting recipes! Summary: 5 Stars
This is the first time I have tried to can anything. Before I got this book I new very little about the entire canning process. It has clear instructions and the recipes taste great! My husband and I have canned strawberry and raspberry jam (which taste great!) so far and have plans to can some other things because we are so happy with how what we have already canned turned out. The book is full of simple recipes and instructions, great for a first time canner like myself!
