Book Reviews of Ball Blue Book Guide to PreservingBook Review: Great book, but shop around Summary: 5 Stars
I was a little intimidated as a beginning canner, but this book broke everything down into very simple steps. I'm looking forward to trying everything. Amazon was really great on delivery too. But wouldn't you know, when I went to Wal-Mart to look for jars, there was the Ball Blue Book of Preserving next to the other supplies for the regular price of $5.72.
Book Review: Helps keep the fresh-from-the-garden feeling through the winter! Summary: 5 Stars
Although every time I drag out the canning kettle, the jars, the lids, I wonder...is it worth it? The answer is yes! To have delicious food, from your garden, in February when the snow is on the ground and the cold wind is blowing is wonderful. The Ball Blue Book has great recipes and easy to follow directions. It is the only book to have!
Book Review: This is the one you want... Summary: 5 Stars
...if you are canning food. These folks are the experts with tested safe canning recipes for a wide variety of foods. I have only owned the book a few weeks but already used it to put up some great pickles, bush beans and seasoned tomato sauce. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in food preservation.
Book Review: Basic but continues to win blue ribbons! Summary: 5 Stars
I love this book, the bonus is that it's the anniversary version which I did not realize when I ordered it.
This book is in my hands all summer. I put up berries, veggies, fruits, all from these recipes and so far, each recipe I use and enter into the state fair, always wins me blue ribbons.
Book Review: Very informative Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this after seeing my mom's copy of it. Everything you ever wanted to know about canning is in this book. There are tons of basic directions in the front and oodles of recipes. I can't think of anything else that this book should have and I recommend every household have it.
