Book Review: Love this book!

This book was a great help since this was our first year canning. I loved the step-by-step pictures a lot because they really showed us how to do the canning! And at my age a visual instruction is always appreciated. We even tried several of the recipes, and the one for zesty salsa in particular was really, really good! You can't go wrong with the Ball Blue Book in my opinion.Book Review: Great information!

This is the first year I have done any canning and I wanted a book to describe the how to and some tasty recipies. This book gave me all the information I needed. We now have some tasty pickles, zucchini pickles, apple butter, and apple preserves!!!
I also like it because it also covers freezing to preserve.
Overall a great basics canning book!

I've used an old edition of the Blue Book for Canning for about 25 years and have found it very useful, this new edition is more colorful and beautiful, but still contains the basic information for canning and various other kinds of food preservation, with some great recipes for pickles, relishes, jams, etc. I consider it one of my most necessary kitchen supplies!Book Review: The bible of canning

I've used this book mainly for freezing foodstuffs through the years and have made some of the jam and fruit butter recipes. As others have written, the book contains well written and documented instructions. The pages literally lead the reader and hopefully cook on how to can or freeze almost anything.
Highly recommend purchasing and using this book.

I used several preserving recipes from this book and was very impressed with the results. My preserving experience was very limited before I purchased this book and supplies. I had no trouble following the instructions and my jams, jellies and pickled items tasted delicious. Friends and family could not tell I had not been doing this type of thing for years.
