Book Review: Nicely done strategy guide in full color

I was pleasantly surprised upon the purchase of this guide. This is probably one of the first PC strategy guides I've ever bought that was in full, beautiful color. I am in love with the photos and the design. I wish Sybex would make their strategy guides in color. If you have the Baldur's Gate 2 Collectors Edition, this guide fits in the box perfectly! The guide is nearly very thorough with everything you need including locations, items and a nicely done section on the variety of the character class kit. I read the reviews of those who were put off by the authors' comments, sometimes off-color or unnecessary. I agree, those comments are certainly not relevant to the topic at hand, and one reviewer stated an NPC confrontation that was important wasn't covered. This should have been addressed as well. I am more than familliar with Versus Books, having bought their Pokemon Versus Guides and am used to authors' subjective approach to tips and solutions. It doesn't bother me (much) but the authors should maybe be more thoughtful toward gamers concerning this to better balance the fun factor with providing the info gamers need. This is the only strategy guide for Baldur's Gate II, so anyone who's unhappy with the guide's unconventional approach, please go to versusbooks.com and let them know. I would have liked though, a listing of the best "starter" characters for people new to the game, or unsure of which character to make since you only get to create one. It's overall a great guide.
