Book Reviews of Backstage Passes and Backstabbing Bastards

Book Review: Al Kooper Hall of Fame
Summary: 5 Stars

Backstage Passes & Backstabbing Bastards by Al Kooper is 1 of if not the best book written about Rock"n'Roll, this guy has done it all & by him noT even being considered for the Rock Hall of Fame shows what a shame that orginazation is. I always thought this dude was one cool cat & this books proves me right, just look up some of the things this guy has played on,produced & for me The Blues Project & Bllod Sweat & Tears are enough to get him into the "Hall of Sales" as he calls it, this book came out in 1978 with an updaye in 1998 & another update in 2007,hope he can update it again in 2017. If you love Rock this is a must H

Book Review: Very funny.
Summary: 5 Stars

Kooper's back room view of the music industry is hilarious. One flaw that is understandable is that he errs on the side of being far too polite. Almost Canadian......After getting screwed over to that degree, anyone would have trouble keeping their yapper shut shut. He shows great restraint, given the circumstances. I wanted more dirt, but a great read, nonetheless. Very funny.

Book Review: Al Kooper is a fine genius
Summary: 5 Stars

If you are a musiclover like I am than you must buy this book
it is telling of a long music-history in which Al had his mark on
the humour is also of a greatness you seldom find in rock literature
i first bought it in London city,i then visited the museum of Modern Arts where somebody stole it from me
but luckely i could rebuy it at Amazon

Book Review: A must read for everyone interested in the 60's (and up)rock
Summary: 5 Stars

I recommend this book for everybody interested in the rock scene
of the 60`s and up !
Al Kooper has a lot to tell of the early days in rock music and is
a great writer .
A lot of good reading and dont forget:
Mr Kooper is still making really good music, listen to the newest
album Black Coffee and see what I mean...

Book Review: Our own backstage pass
Summary: 5 Stars

Read the book years ago, and was pleased to see it back in print. Wife and
I went to hear/see Al speak at a local bookstore when he passed through
San Francisco just recently. Great storyteller and even better in person.
Bought 4 copies and sent them to the interested parties who loved reading the book like I did.
