Book Reviews of Babylon Rising: The Edge of Darkness

Book Review: Good book
Summary: 4 Stars

This book was a good read, but not the best in the series. In this installment in the series, the main character spends more time at home and less time across the globe in exotic locations. Storyline was a little lacking, it was like the author was building for a future storyline in the next book. Good Christian messages were present throughout the book. Hopefully, the next book will have more excitement.

Book Review: Edge of Darkness
Summary: 4 Stars

This book is great. It is a thriller and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Book Review: spiritual fiction
Summary: 3 Stars

Great book. All three books in the weries are excellent. I am hoping there will be a fourth one. If you enjoyed the Left Behind series you will definetely enjoy this one. It is about an archeology professor who tries to prove what the bible says is fact. The is a secret group that is out to kill the main character, because they don't want the people to know the bible is true.

Book Review: Phillips needs a Critique Group
Summary: 1 Stars

I enjoyed Left Behind so thought I'd try LaHaye's new series. Agggh. First I couldn't tell from amazon which book in the series was #1. I got this one (#4). Dialogue is trite and "on the nose", POV shifts will give you whiplash, main plot never resolved, units of measure questionable (why is a 1000 BC Hebrew's height given in feet? Would they really say, 'be back here by 6:00 tomorrow? or would they say "before the sun sets tomorrow."? Interesting main plot but character is supposed to be an established Christian but the baby Christian in his lab knows not to date the non-Christian but he doesn't? Dream sequences stretch the reader's willingness to suspend disbelief. All in all, author should take his work to a critique group before publshing.
