Book Reviews of Automotive Upholstery HandbookBook Review: Guide for new beginners. Summary: 4 Stars
Takes you through the whole operation, from sewing machine to finale products. If the pictures had been better, it would get 5 stars.
Book Review: Informative Summary: 4 Stars
Great starter and overview for the novice. Even has a few tricks for the pros
Book Review: ok, but not as good as I had hoped Summary: 3 Stars
The book is outdated and not in color. My 2 biggest complaints. Also, as mentioned earlier the pictures are too poor to make out what the author is trying to show. Furthermore, I'd like to see more pictures and less diluted text. Also the section on fabrics is poor. I haven't finished yet, but I have questions I would like to have answered. However, the custom upholstery seems to be a lot better, but the experience is far beyond this text. Overall, without having read any other upholstery books I have little for comparison, but I would see if there's an alternative before telling a friend to buy it.
Book Review: horrible photos Summary: 3 Stars
The info in the book would make this a 4.5 book becuase it is correct and very good info. I found out how good by actually taking car seats etc apart with the text. The photos are so horrible that had I not had an actual car to take apart I would have been confused as hell. The photos take away 2 stars and thats me being nice about it becuase the info is good. This book really needs to be in color or at the very least clear black and white photos. Despite this it is one of the better books on this subject.
Book Review: generic Summary: 3 Stars
The book is a little too vanilla. That's because it is so broadly based. Really good overall information, but just wasn't what I was looking for. If you need to get up to speed on the general details of the work, it's great.
From there you know which detailed book to search for.
