Book Reviews of Autoharp Owner's ManualBook Review: Autoharp Owner's Manual Summary: 5 Stars
This book is a compilation of articles from an autoharp publication. The articles have a variety of topics that help an autoharp owner tweak the 'harp to make it more conducive to personal playing.
There are a number of articles on how to re-felt, how to re-tune, how to play to prevent RSI.
I found it particularly useful to change my autoharp to diatonic tuning.
It's the "Chilton's" for Autoharp.
There are even plans for making an autoharp, lots of theory and suggestions.
A really fun book for autoharp enthusiasts.
It's not really a "how to play" book. It's aimed more at heavy users.
Book Review: A Must for Autoharpers Summary: 5 Stars
The owner of quite a number of autoharps, I somehow--and amazingly--missed this fabulous book. It covers every aspect of autoharping, from history to setup to modification to string choice to tuning to building to playing. This book is a collection of works written by experts in the world of autoharps. My only lament is the fact that I did not buy this book years ago. It is a winner, and a must-have for anyone who plays autoharp.
Book Review: Essential manual for autoharp owners Summary: 5 Stars
I am delighted with the wealth of information about the autoharp I found in this manual. Articles on the care of my instrument were just what I needed. I'm only just learning to play and seeing so much that I can do myself gave me a great boost. True, this book is not about playing my autoharp, it is about caring for it and does a very fine job giving me information on that topic.
Book Review: Okay Summary: 5 Stars
I kind of wish I hadn't ordered this. The seller is great and delivers quickly and the price was good, but it's just a book of old articles and there aren't really many specifics in the articles (no pictures to speak of) to really help me know what they are talking about. I think it's a great piece of history, but history wasn't what I was looking for.
Book Review: Essential Information for all Autoharpists Summary: 5 Stars
I bought the book for the great section on building (and rebuilding) a harp but am intrigued by the articles dealing with turning a chromatic harp into a diatonic one. The book is well written as a series of articles; each dealing with a specific subject. Easy to find what you need and easily digested - a model for an instrument info book. Lovely job.
