I bought this book because I wanted to expand my knowledge on cars and engines. It did not work out as expected. If you have NEVER worked on a car before and you have NO IDEA about parts then I do recommend this book to you. For someone that knows even the basics this book is totally pointless and boring. There is nothing to teach you. If you are the kind of person that brings the car to the mechanic and is like do whatever you have to do then buy the book. If you can make something as simple as an oil change by yourself then do not.Book Review: Great Info but lacks the DIY

This is a great reference if you dont know anything about how cars work or how they are maintained. I was expecting to see DIY kinda info with a lot of pictures and photos, however most of the info is textual and does not really help much when you want to do something instantly.
it would be great if the content could be shortened to what is essentially needed and have many DIY photo assisted tutorials in it. A great overall read and reference about cars anyway.

Okay, the title should have given me a clue, but I have a couple of old 57 Dodge trucks and thought the sections on carburetors and distributors would come in handy. They did, in a very broad sort of way. But there really wasn't much in this book that did more than rephrase what I already knew.Book Review: ehhhh your manual will probably give you more info

this book is ok, but it really dosent help at all. I suggest just reading your manual in the glove box of your car. But if you want to prove me wrong then go ahead.Book Review: For old dummies

Despite the fact it is too basic (you can say: it is for dummies ,Ok?), it is too old, I mean it is out of date. For instance, my car is 2003, and most of the book content is related to cars with older technology. It covers autos with features of the 80s or 90s. If you have a car of this century ( 2000 and later), you need to look in another direction.
I am disappointed, I expected more, and I got less.
