Book Reviews of Audition: A Memoir

Book Review: I couldn't put this book down!
Summary: 5 Stars

I absolutely adored this book!

I wasn't aware that Barbara Walters played such a "ground breaking" role for women in the communications industry! Not to mention all of the diplomats, celebrities and real people she interviewed. What a resume!

It was extremely interesting to me to hear about "the story" behind the interview. As well as how she worked extremely hard to get where she is today.

I would highly recommend this book!

Book Review: AUDITION
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a long way to go before finishing the book. Barbara makes sure she gets lots of exposure concerning her book. Whoopie, Joy, Elizabeth, and Sherry never fail to mention the book and gush all over her. All of the appearances Barbara has made (Larry King, etc.) she revealed the same tales over and over again per Senator Brooke, her father and his successes turned to failure, her sister and adopted daughter Jackie, and the men in her life. Talk about ego!!

Book Review: No sugar coating here
Summary: 5 Stars

Barbara Walters doesn't sugar coat her life. Good for her! If you're going to tell your life story you need to tell the good, bad, and the ugly. And she does just that. I have even more respect for the woman now. She admits her mistakes in her affair and her broken marriages. She also admits the guilt she feels for her relationship with her disabled sister. The book was a little longwinded but an interesting read about an interesting and influential woman.

Book Review: Poignant and Inspiring Book
Summary: 5 Stars

I absolutely love this book. Barbara lived in era when women was either weather bunnies or windowdressing. Not serious reporters. This shows struggles she had to overcome in the workforce as well as family issues. My favorite chapters where she discusss her difficult relationship with her sister Jackie as well as her daughter. Her guilt over not been the loving sister she could have been. It is really an Inspiring and I know you will enjoyed reading it.
