Book Reviews of Audition: A Memoir

Book Review: Audition
Summary: 5 Stars

I've read two-thirds of Audition, and did a 180 degree turn in my opinion of Ms. Walters. Her life as a young girl echoes much of mine, with the exception of the financial security. Perhaps it was the time of "children are to be seen, not heard," that made her into a strong and sincere person dealing with her contacts. It was a time when we all had more empathy toward one another, and the "really big show people" having come from the bottom, were "really" big! Great life story! I'd recommend it any day.

Book Review: Audition: Finally she does not have to prove herself anymore.
Summary: 5 Stars

For many years this woman has been known as a tril blazer for all women. This woman broke the glass ceiling in so many areas of the "mans" world so that other women could follow. This book is an awesome testament to the woman she is, and the example that she set for all women. Some focus on the fact of the affair. Get over it, it was long ago. Many people make mistakes as they climb the ladder of success. And, if that one step on the ladder is the only misstep, then give her kuddos for all the others.

Book Review: Terrific book
Summary: 5 Stars

This book about Barbara Walter's life is very interesting. She hasn't avoided any subject and at least touches on every aspect of her life. She also talks honestly about the people she has interviewed and what goes on behind the scenes in trying to get an interview with someone. She writes about all her different jobs and how she was treated, which wasn't always well or fairly. She is a pioneer in the television industry as a woman moving up to work with the 'big boys'. I highly recommend this book.

Book Review: A Thoroughly Engaging Read
Summary: 5 Stars

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. At 582 pages, it's a little large to lug to a beach, but it is definitely an engrossing read. I enjoyed the personal parts of the book, but I really enjoyed reading about the many celebrity interviews and meetings. I think one of my favorite stories was about Barbara and Henry Kissinger going to the sports arena; I also enjoyed reading the Monica Lewinsky section and admit, this book improved my opinion of Monica. What a life Barbara Walters has led!

Book Review: Barbara's View
Summary: 5 Stars

Wow. I just finished the book.I must say it was a fascinating read. I can't rememeber a time when there was no BW just like Bob Barker,it seems these people have been in my life since i was a little boy, anyways it's kinda funny when i think of BW. I often think of the character in the movie "moster in law" with Jane Fonda, but I think everyone should read this book what an amazing life this woman has had, just wonderful, she did pave the way for all female journalists, even THE OPRAH.
