Book Review: Glitz without guts

I was asked to give advice on atlases for M1s from the perspective of an M2, and got this one to take a look at. It looked great when I first looked at it and really liked the illustrations, even though they are small on the page. I was trying to update the dissection guide for the course and that is where I totally lost it with this book. This is not organized the way we dissect and in order to follow the guides, a lot of flipping around pages has to happen. Lucky my hands were clean, but in real dissection, this book is going to be gross (ha) in no time. There were a few big errors that jumped out at me, like confused pulmonary circulation. I didn't like the separate `neuroanatomy' at the end, this is better in the right sections. The clinical material was obvious, even for first years. This doesn't beat what is out there, and will be hard to use.
