Book Reviews of Apple Pro Training Series: Final Cut Pro 6Book Review: An updated version of a must-have for FCP Editors Summary: 5 Stars
Final Cut Pro 6 is the latest update to Diana Weynand's comprehensive text on editing with Final Cut Pro.
In its latest incarnation, Final Cut Pro 6 has been updated with new features and workflows, as well as a great deal of hands-on practice in every aspect of using FCP, including editing scenes from the USA TV Series "Monk".
This is the third version of this title that I have owned, and keep upgrading as I find it a valuable reference and key to unlocking new features with every Final Cut upgrade.
Book Review: A beautiful thing Summary: 5 Stars
This book is right to the point and helpful in explaining a program as deep as the Pacific. I was marveling at the usefulness of each paragraph. I'm a partner in a graphic design firm and really appreciated the simple layout and minimum word count on each spread. (I'm totally ADD...not a great combination with FCPI salute Diana and her approach. In simplicity there is inspiration and I found it this afternoon. I will order more of Diana's books. I can't imagine it gets too much better than this.
Book Review: Love it! Summary: 5 Stars
Love it! Final Cut Pro is no longer scary to me. In just the first chapter, I am way more comfortable with FCP. The book paces everything beautifully and makes it so that even I, with not that much computer savvy, can navigate this great program. I did, however, have problems with the disc, my iMac would not download/read all the lessons, and those that I could work with were sometimes jumpy. But that aside, love the book!
Book Review: Final Cut Pro 6 - Apple Training Series Summary: 5 Stars
This is a well organized book that will clearly guide you through FCP6. Excellent footage with a step by step learning experience. Each lesson clearly defines its goals and builds on the previous lesson. I have just started reading it. It's a great guide to get up and running with FCP.
The only thing I can think of that would make it a better book is more images.
Still a good book. Well worth the buy!
Book Review: It's very thorough Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great training book for the beginner and the experienced. As a longtime editor on Windows based editors, I found the basic language of navigating Mac systems helpful. I also found their depth of detail of the edit system very thorough. The video supplied in the DVD makes it worth the $50.
The book can be used as a straight read, or a quick reference book. This is topnotch.
