Book Review: I did not want this book to end!
Summary: 5 Stars
Of course, we chose this book for one of our book club books! We just had to, since the characters in the book all belong to a book club! How fitting! This book was so much better than I thought it would be. Each of the chapters starts out with the name of the book that was chosen for the character's book club meetings, and which character chose the book and why they did! How creative! Each character in this book has their own life story. The author allows us to slowly disect each of the characters lives and find out their deepest secrets. At first, I thought that it would be difficult to keep each of the characters straight. It seemed like their were a lot of them at first, but each one is so unique in her own way, that you have no problem remembering who is who after the first few chapters! This book made me think about what my life will be like as I get older, as I have kids, and I also wondered if I would be in my book club as long as these women. They are so strong, and stick by each other, even if they do have rough times with each other and in their families. I was truly drawn to a couple of the characters especially. Without giving anything away, I cannot imagine dealing with the things that some of these ladies have to go through in the book. I was slightly (and I mean SLIGHTLY) disappointed with the end of the book. I wanted to know EVEN MORE about the characters, but I suppose that would be impossible. The book would have to go on forever and ever. It was just such a great book. I am SO SAD that I had to miss the book club meeting for this book :-( My husband had an awards banquet that night. I guess those things happen though! I was just so drawn to this book. I really hope the readers out there give it a chance. It was one of the best ones I have read yet!
