Maggie leaves her husband and travels all the way from England to Los Angeles to her friend, Emily. Los Angeles is like a new world for her, everybody is self confident, young, hot and desperate wannabies.
Marian Keyes (author of chick-lit books like: Watermelon, Lucy Sullivan Is Getting Married, Sushi for Beginners) disappoint me, after all that I've heard about her books, this is what she brings me?
"Angels" is not my favourite book, is this anyone's favourite book? The plot felt very dull and I realised quite soon that this was not a book for me. Maybe I'm hard to impress, maybe I need books with more action, but in a girly way. I love chick-lit books (books for chicks...) most of the time, because they can sprinkle some glamour on top of your day. But this book did not play in the same league as other chick-books. What about the content, does it have a point? No. Is it fun? No. I was pretty disappointed, but of course I kept on reading... and reading. Did it ever end? Well, yes, this book with almost 450 pages had an end, want to know it? You'll have to read the book!
Although, I have to warn you, it may become boring after 10 pages...
But don't let this review stop you from reading Marian Keyes's other books! She's a great author... though this mistake.
