Book Reviews of Anatomy of the Spirit: 7 Stages of Power and HealingBook Review: Hard Read Summary: 5 StarsThis is a bit of a hard read to me. I have to read the pages over and over to understand the way this is written. I dunno...it's probably a good book if you can manage not to become bored in the beginning with trying to understand it.
Book Review: must read Summary: 5 StarsThis is an excellent book for all to read who are looking for guidance through their spiritual journey. Fantastic reading. Well written, easy to follow.
Book Review: An excellent beginning to exploring the connection between mind and body Summary: 5 StarsThis book started me on a path to healing myself. It is a great way to begin to see the unifying principals between major religions. The most important thing for me is that it can help with some introspective self diagnosis of what is ailing you physically and spiritually. I would easily consider this book to be a foundation to start your exploration of the chakra system. Carolyn Myss put me in a new paradigm for at least a year with this book and instilled a hunger for knowledge of the mind body system that has persisted 7 years later. Even though I think this book is a great start to understanding the chakra system and the mind-body connection, it was in depth enough to make you feel like you've been educated.
Book Review: Amazing read Summary: 5 StarsDr Myss manages to engage, inspire, and bring together three mystical traditions into one system. Her unique technology is a revelation! Entirely relevant to health and disease, Myss's exploration is mystical, spiritual as well as practical.
You gotta read this book!
Book Review: This Book Began My Spiritual Healing Summary: 5 StarsA year ago, I began taking antidepressants and I was tired of the roller coaster ride that ensued of medication experimentation -- looking for the right cocktail, suffering through side effects and withdrawal symptoms, hoping that I'd find something to make me feel better but not make me unable to care for my children. It was exhausting. I was then recommended this book by a friend who practices Reiki -- she said if I wanted to get off the drugs, this would help me do it. AND IT HAS!! I learned to use my "personal power". Caroline Myss is a medical intuitive, which means that she has met hundreds (maybe thousands) of people in pain who need help and she offers diagnoses and even direction to heal. She differentiates between healing the spirit, which is essential to beginning our journey on self-healing, and curing a disease -- after all, sometimes your physical body has deteriorated past the point of recovery. But she shares stories of people physically debilitated by their illnesses, but who are spiritually alive and healthy! Myss's book helped me understand my spiritual self, where is my power, how can I use it to heal myself. She then explains our spiritual selves against the "seven sacred truths", which draw parallels between the 7 chakras, 7 Christian sacraments, and the 7 levels of the Tree of Life of Kabbalah. Not only is this a fascinating read, but it opened my eyes to a world I never considered, a self I never realized I had. "The Anatomy of the Spirit" taught me to understand my spiritual self from ground zero, and gave me the knowledge I needed to begin my journey on self-healing. I am much healthier today and well on the road to recovery both physically and mentally. My life has changed for the better and it all began with this book. Just remember: when you open this book, it will open your world; but first you must approach it with an open mind.
