Book Review: Impressed, but Not Surprised

Outside of his unfortunate status as one of the West Memphis Three, Damien has proven himself a person worth knowing. This book discusses his legal situation very little, for obvious reasons (he's still in the appeals process) but that is why I liked it. As a supporter of the WM3, I've wondered a lot about the pre-prison lives of all three men and have wanted to understand them more on a personal level. That is precisely what is accomplished in this book.
Interest in his case is not at all necessary to enjoy Damien's book. I would hope, though, that reading this unflinchingly honest and excellently written autobiography would at least create curiosity about it.

As I have been following this case for sometime now, finally reading and understanding things from one of the three's point of view is amazing. To see how twisted the media can turn things and make people seem worse than they appear.
Damien wrote very well, and used such detail in his work. I almost cried several times reading the story that he told, the story of his life. If I could I would do everything for him.
This book is a must read by any person. No matter the point of view or the gender. If you know about the case, you should read the real story of one of the unfortunate people convicted of these horrid crimes.

I have followed the case of teh West Memphis Three for a long time, and itbreaks my heart to know how they have to live in prison, when they are so innocent...if you are intersted in the case, and carry great empathy for Damien Echols this is the book for you. He's such a gifted writer, and the look inside to him and his life are fasinating....i just want to hug him and tell him i'm so sorry by the time i was done...he's very talented and an excellent story teller. he's also strong, stronger than any of you or i could ever be if in that circumstance. its the best book i have ever, read, i am so glad he wrote it..it changed my life.Book Review: Damien Revealed

You will learn in this book about the person,Damien Echols, not just the case. This book is so personal and revealing and gives true insight into who Damien really is. There are things in this book you will not find from any other source because only Damien himself could have told this story. This is one of the best books I have ever read, I was impressed with the talent and the emotional depth of Damien when he wrote this book from his cold, harsh, prison world. Once you begin reading this book it will be glued to your hands. The way he writes puts you right in his shoes, or at least right there with him from beginning to the end of the book. It was glued to my hands and cause of many sleepless nights because I didn't want to put it down. It's a Must read for anyone who is remotely familiar with the West Memphis Three or a reader who would just like to walk a mile in someone else's shoes. An Intimate look into the life of another human being, this book shows you a different side to Damien Echols' life pre-trial and many things there after.
