Book Reviews of Almost Home: My Life Story Vol 1Book Review: Just Wonderful Summary: 5 Stars
If you are a follower of the case, or if you're just starting to get into it, this book answers a lot of questions, and really lets you experience a large part of what it was and is like to be Damien Echols. I found so much of myself in Damien discussing his childhood and young adulthood. If you did not grow up as the quiet outcast, you at least knew them. I recommend this book highly to anyone who asks "Who are the West Memphis 3?" regarding my shirts. It is easier to put faces with names and understand if you watch the documentaries prior, but even if you havent seen either of the Paradise Lost films, this is still well worth reading. Damien is an incredible author, and I hope he keeps up with it, when they are found innocent. I have lent my copy out numerous times, to help spread an understanding that these are regular people who fell into horrible circumstances. The most common feedback is "He's more normal than I thought he was." He is not the same kid in the films, he has grown physically, mentally and spiritually into an adult.
Don't let the stupidity of a small town take his entire life away, read this book and have your questions answered. You may find a lot of Damien Echols inside of yourself, and that should fill you with more inspiration than anything to help set him free.

Book Review: Best Book Ever Read Summary: 5 Stars
I have recently read the life story of Damien Echols who is one of the the 'West Memphis Three', three then teenagers imprisoned for the horrific murder of three 8 year old boys. I bought this book after watching the dvd 'Paradise Lost' because I was appalled by the fact that in this day and age people can be convicted of a murder and sentenced to die with no evidence other then 'they were different'. I was interested to hear the so called ring leaders view on this extreme miscarriage of justice. Just as I thought, Damien came across as a down to earth, itelligent, articulate man. I was amazed by how he has learnt after 12 years on death row not to be bitter but instead realise that as he is an innocent man and with the growing support from around the world he is 'Almost Home'. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to everyone, it is a true story, it is full of laughter, sadness, love and truely opened my eyes not to be judgemental or narrow minded of others who dont share my interests, I beg of you buy it now to show your support as profits from sales will contribute to this young mans defense fund. Thank you
Book Review: My Life Story (My Life Story) Summary: 5 Stars
After receiving my copy of this book, I sat down and began to read. After the first few pages I realized that I didn't feel as it was a book, I felt more like Damien and I were setting down so he could tell me his story. As I read, I went through a range of emeotions. I laughed, cried, and felt just about everything inbetween. If you at teetering on buying it or not, I say you should buy it. It is very well written and If you are like me you will find it hard to put down once you begin reading. Damien is not the demon, that the media has so often portrayed him to be. Damien, Jason, and Jesse are just inocent victims of a justice system that was looking for a scapegoat. I believe that once anyone reads this book they will see that there is no way Damien, Jason, and Jesse are capable of commiting the crime they are incarcerated for!

Book Review: An eye-opening gem Summary: 5 Stars
This compact, colorful memoir is the very definition of
what a biography should be -- a fresh, surprising window into the head and heart of its subject. Even -- or, should I say, especially -- if you have seen "Paradise Lost" or read "Devil's Knot", you will find yourself understanding Damien Echols and his too often sad and alarming life's journey after reading this book for what will be perhaps the first time. Damien has a true knack for story-telling, and mountains of Arkansas court system dictated free time have empowered him with self-reflective abilities which are exciting to co-experience on the page. He has seen through chaos and found the nubs of logic and cause and effect which have tragically got him where he is today, and here he shares it all. No matter how you come down on this case, you will find this book a rewarding and informative experience.
Book Review: Beautiful, Powerful, Honest and Simple Summary: 5 Stars
Almost home delivered a sense of depth to me so vivid, it felt like I accompanied Damien during his austere childhood. Damien Echols is an amazing individual who has endured an egregious act of injustice one could ever comprehend. This is a must read for anyone who has supported their cause, or are new to this tragic story.
