Book Reviews of All Cats Have Asperger Syndrome

Book Review: How the cute and cuddly can help build understanding and tolerance
Summary: 5 Stars

I didnt know what to expect when I ordered this book; thought it may be a series of humerous comments. As it happens, Kathy Hoopman as created an attractive, thought provoking and emotion stirring little story.
Enlisting the help of dozens of gorgeous cats and kittens, the author tells the tale of a child with Aspergers, in simple sentence-plus-picture format. Her careful choice of image, cleverly illustrates each point she makes, leading the reader on a journey of understanding, hopefully leading to greater tolerance and compassion for our fellow man.
Our child's teacher read it in a class of 9 year olds to help them all understand why some of us are different and yet perfectly OK!

Book Review: My son loves this book!!
Summary: 5 Stars

My son has AS he doesn't know it,but I wanted him to take a look at book that might have some characteristics he would relate to his personality, and this book sure did!!He loved the images and became quite fond of the book,in the end of the book,it mentions we all have a little bit of AS in us,so he seemed relieved and proud at the same time, which since then he feels more normal about his ways then before, they are young but they do realize they are different.I also got the All dogs have ADHD book, which was another hit with him. This was a great book to show my family, they were able to see AS in a visual way,a way they can instantly relate, but short enough to not overwhelm.

Book Review: Great tool for explaining Asperger's to my 6 year old
Summary: 5 Stars

I loved this book. My son was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome earlier this year. I was looking for books for me and came across this one. After the doctor's appointment where the doctor explained to him that he had Asperger's, we came home and we read this book. It is written in very simple terms and essentially equates some cat qualities with Asperger's qualities (like to be alone, do their own thing, etc). It really puts a positive spin on it. I think it would be good for a 5 year old to a 9 year old. My son took a bit of time, and a lot of discussions with us, to get his head around what Asperger's means, and this book helped a lot. I highly recommend it.

Book Review: Awesome
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this book because my younger son has aspergers and also has a love of cats. As soon as we got this book we sat down and read it. The pictures alone make the book cute. But the dialogue that goes with the pictures were awesome. My son could relate to so many of them. We'd see a picture and the words next to them - "This is sooooo you!" I'd say and we'd smile and laugh. He brought the book to school to show everyone. His one teacher has a son with AS and she borrowed it to show it to him as well. It is such a positive look at AS and presented in such a way that helps people understand the AS kid and know that even with AS he can still do great things.

Book Review: Outstanding as both a teaching aid and humor
Summary: 5 Stars

We happened on this book looking for another animal text and sat beguiled reading. The author did an excellent job using cat photography to illustrate the salient points of her thesis.

I think this book will make an excellent teaching aid for children. Animals will make both the kids and their parents more comfortable with the idea of Aspergers and laughing while you learn is always a good thing.

Even non-Aspergers people picking up this book are going to enjoy the photography and laugh their way through the images of cats.

In every aspect, this book is just an exceptional effort.
