Book Reviews of All Cats Have Asperger SyndromeBook Review: Cute Summary: 5 Stars
I was browsing around at the bookstore and came across this book in the special needs section. The title caught my attention since I have Asperger Syndrome and own three cats. Although not all cats have Asperger Syndrome, I can really attest that feeling for one of my three cats who truly has it just the same as I do. The more I read the book, it gets cuter. Of course, it reads like a children's book given the big words and pictures of adorable kittens and cats on each page. I am almost tempted to buy the book for the sake of it, but the high price ($15.00 by that time) ultimately prevented me to so. Quite a wonderful journey that does well in explaining the Asperger Syndrome and the pairing of cats with it does make total sense to me.
Book Review: Forever grateful! Summary: 5 Stars
My 9 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome and I didn't know how to talk about her diagnosis without her feeling there was something "wrong" with her. She already feels different and believes that the kids at school don't like her. Her particular topic of interest happens to be animals so I thought this book would be a good way to ease into telling her. We read it once and she loved the photos of the cats. The second time, I had her give me a "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" on each page if she felt she was like the cat. Half way through the book, she made the connection and asked it she was an Asperger's child. She now feels she is a unique individual and I will always be thankful for this book!

Book Review: It's a 5 minute enjoyable read Summary: 5 Stars
I am a parent with two children who have AS. We found this book at B & N and my son loved it. It described him, his behaviors and it could have just as easily been him in the pictures instead of the cats. I found it to be a very good way to describe some of his behaviors and the feelings he and his sister have. I will be buying it from Amazon (much better price) and plan on sending it to school with him. The one or two people at his school who understand AS will get a kick out of it. Since it is a cute and fun book, maybe some of his teachers will look at it and perhaps start to have an understanding of him and his behaviors. It's a quick, easy and fun read (picture book) which hits the AS behaviors dead on.
Book Review: My daughter loved this book... Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this book because my 11 year old daughter has been diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome. I thought it would be a helpful book for her as well as her younger sister who is 8 years old to read. I was a little wary about her reading the book at first because I was afraid that where the book touches on some of the down points of AS might upset my daughter. However, she absolutely loved the book! She read it over and over. It also helped my younger daughter to understand more what her sister was going through. And the pictures of the kittens are so cute!! My daughter's principal even borrowed the book to use for a presentation she did on Asperger Syndrome and Autism. I would highly recommend this book.
Book Review: A sweet book very appropriate for children and people new to their understanding of AS Summary: 5 Stars
My library contains dozens of books on AS. I have read them all. I wish I could get others to do the same, but time being what it is and life being as complex as ever, this is simply an impossible wish. I highly recommend this book as *the* book to present to people with little time but much need to learn about AS. It is also a great book to present to children; those on the spectrum and those in the neurotypical population who would all benefit from understanding their peers with AS and other ASD/PDD related issues.
This book is cute and sweet. It is not top-shelf research. It is gentle and gracious. A perfect coffee table book to garnish interest and start discussions. I loved it.
