Book Review: good review and fun

About 180 pages into it and I'm actually having fun!
The example problems are great but the solutions at the end of the chapter are sometimes a bit confusing (but they clear themselves up if you chew the problem a little and remember what you're supposed to be learning in that given chapter).
I've only found one typo in an answer so far (signs reversed).
Learning a few things I never heard of before for example Pascal's Triangle.
Skip around and focus on the weak areas. I'd buy it again.
Bought it for a review before returning to college after a seven year break from school (if you can really call the military a break).
Book Review: Fun and Easy to Understand Algebra

I haven't quite finished working through the book, but I can say right now this is the best workbook I've ever encountered.
What makes it especially great for me are several things. First, the examples and instruction are easy to follow. Second, there are plenty of practice problems to really get your feet wet. Third, the answers are very clear with their easy, logical step by step solutions. I also like the interjected humor spotted throughout the book. It just goes to show math is not that scary. Math is like climbing a ladder, you have to be secure on each step as you climb up. The view from the top is confidence.

Material is perfect for becoming reacquainted with algebra. New titles, terms and methods for solutions of algebraic equations are presented and discussed fully and with a minimum of words. The Algebra II Workbook is necessary if you have been a long time absent from algebra. The material came on time and in perfect condition.
I have never been disappointed in all my purchases from Amazon and their sellers.

Both books by Sterling are excellent for anyone wanting to study algebra. But it is obviously necessary to have both books, Algebra 1 and the Workbook in order to get full benefit. Without the exercises in the workbook, it is impossible to know if you really "get it" or not. The books build skills in a logical sequence. I wish I'd had these two books back in high school. The ALGEBRA WORKBOOK FOR DUMMIES was purchased, along with ALGEBRA FOR DUMMIES, for a close friend that has gone back to school at a "mature" age. Together they haven't exactly made her a raving algebraic enthusiast but they put forth the concepts in a manner that is logical and easier to understand. I don't think she'll score a 4 for this class but there's no doubt that she'll achieve a passing grade!
