Book Reviews of the Again to CarthageCustomer Review: Quite a disappointment Summary: 1 Stars
I eagerly anticipated reading this book, being a runner myself and considering the rave reviews the author's preceding book "Once a Runner" received. The book starts off promisingly enough in the first chapter but quickly spirals downward (or maybe to be fair, goes off on a tangent) into an expose of the psychological baggage carried by our hero Cassidy and his fellow runners. The flashbacks to the Vietnam war are fine enough, just not something I expected , or dare I say cared, to read about, in a book about 'a runner'. The fact that John L. Parker chose to use more than just a few expletives throughout the book made it all the more painful. I feel bad having to write this review but in complete honesty this book was a huge disappointment. Save your money and go buy a nice pair of running shorts.
