Book Review: So far so good, just avoid the kindle version

This is one instance where print rules over kindle.
I have only just begun, but I wanted to compare the print vs kindle editions. The print version is large and easy to read, especially if you are an adult who might have trouble with closeness. I tried a sample of the kindle version and everything on the screen is images (rather than text), so you cannot make it larger. The images were a little fuzzy and far smaller than the print edition (simply due to the screen size), making the use of the kindle version impractical for this type of book. Also, I use an iPad for my kindle software, which has a reflection on the screen as well as auto dimming. Sure, I can keep it bright for 2-3 hours of piano practicing, but what if the battery runs out? I don't want to stop practicing because my iPad died on me. The iPad would have to be plugged in, which is at the bottom of the iPad, not allowing me to rest the iPad on the piano, as I do with the print edition. Sometimes no technology is just better.
As for the book content - I am an absolute beginner. I started learning the clarinet and banjo in February. Now in March, I have added the piano to my practice schedule. This book is perfect for beginners. If you don't know how to read music or have never had any experience with a musical instrument, this book is perfect. You are slowly guided one step at a time learning the right and left hand. I was most pleased by the fact that I was playing short pieces of recognizable music in only a few days, including Jingle Bells - using BOTH hands - something I thought would take months to accomplish, considering how my left hand feels as useful as my left foot. I am having too much fun - my arm hurt on the third day from practicing too much! 2.5 hours of practice passed so quickly using this book. I temporarily forgot about the clarinet and banjo!
Make sure you order the more expensive version if you want the audio CD included (not very useful though). You have to click on "Show 1 more format" to see the book with CD (as of March 18, 2011).
