As a person previously acquainted with only the most basic of Adobe skills, I found this book and cd to be a great introduction to computer graphics. The instructions for the lessons are very clear and the illustrations quite helpful. The lessons give you some idea of the scope of activity available to you and leave you with plenty of room for additional exploration. I had to get this book for class. In the past most books i've had to get for class has always ... and I usually get another book to go with it. This book kept my attention from cover to cover and I feel I've learned some valuable lessons because of it. It's a great book for beginners, or the novice who knows the basics of photoshop. I'm great with computers, but know NOTHING about Photoshop. Couldn't just intuitively use it like with most things. Compared different books. This one takes you from ground zero on up to using the program. The Photoshop for Dummies seamed geared to an audience that already knew how to use it. This book is very hands on, easy to use, and specific enough to be an excellent learning tool. I looked over all the available books for photoshop 7(by 8/5/2002); and this one was by far the best. Probably no one in the world has used this book more thoroughly than I have.
