Book Reviews of A Wrinkle in Time (Madeleine L'Engle's Time Quintet)

Book Review: Space Travel at it's Best
Summary: 5 Stars

"A Wrinkle in Time" tells the story of Meg and Charles Wallace who go into outer space to find their missing father. Along with their friend,Calvin, they meet three mysterious women with powers who help them in their search. With their new alien friends, the children enter a tesseract, a wrinkle in time, and discover a world terrorized by the evil It.
The children discover that by depending on each other and solving problems, one at a time, every goal can be reached.
This book has lots of action and it's characters are children whose reactions are very realistic, given their situations. If you like science fiction and love to read about the possibilities of time travel, you will love it.

Book Review: Excellent for preteens and up!
Summary: 5 Stars

My fifth grade teacher read this book to my class(over 20 yearsago). I remember I couldn't wait for him to get to reading time eachday. Out of all the books he read this is the only one that stands outin my memory - a wonderful adventure with a heroine named Meg and anevil villain that kidnaps her father. The addition of the vividcharacterization of the three witches that help Meg on her quest tofind her father are both enchanting and attention catching tochildren. A few years ago I picked the book up and actually read it.It is definately a child's book but the nostaglia value was priceless.I definately recommend this book. I can't wait until my children areold enough to read it!

Book Review: Madeleine L'Engle's "A Wrinkle in Time"
Summary: 5 Stars

It has been years since I have read any childrens book. My 10 year old stepdaughter is at the age where she is just starting to enjoy reading adventure books. I decided for a summer gift to pick up some of my favorite books from my childhood. 'A Wrinkle in Time" has always been one of my favorites. Ms. L'Engle seemed to have a way with making me feel like I was Meg on the adventure to find her father. Her portrayal of Charles Wallace reminded me of my best friends brother. I had a feeling that Sara would enjoy 'A Wrinkle in Time' as much as I did. I was right! She has read it four times since May! Sincerely, Vicki L. Lowmiller

Book Review: A book of many levels
Summary: 5 Stars

I was in the third grade when our teacher had us read this book. The other teachers thought she was nuts - too difficult of a book to read. We had to make pictures of our favorite characters - mine was Charles Wallace. It was the best experience I had in my grade school years. I have since read the book probably 10 times. I have given the book as gifts to my nephews and nieces. At 32, I have put this story into the memories that have shaped my childhood. I thank Mrs. Write, my third grade teacher, for directing us toward our imaginations. And to Madeleine L'Engle for giving no boundaries to our imagination.

Book Review: An Exciting Fictional Story
Summary: 5 Stars

When Meg and Charles Wallace are visited by an old lady, she tells them about a tesseract. She invites them to her house and when they go they meet her two friends. They do a thing called tessering and travel to a different planet. The kids find out that they have to save their father and the Earth. They go to a planet called Camozotz and have to fight the power of IT, a brain that controls life on Camozotz. I did like this book because of all the things that are going on, but be careful because some parts are hard to understand. Read the book to find out what happens. Hope you like it!!!
