Book Reviews of A Walk to RememberBook Review: Just don't forget your box of tissues Summary: 5 Stars
I don't think I have ever really cried while reading a book, but with this story I had to pull out the box of tissues. This is such a powerful story about not only the strange places we find love, but how it can't truly change our lives. I received this book as a gag gift from a friend and had just thrown it to the side. After I had read "The Notebook," which is also by Sparks, I thought I should give this one a try too and maybe I would love it just as much. Well, I started and couldn't stop. For the two days that it took me to read it I was completely entwined in the story of Jamie and Landon, the two high school sweethearts who found each other in the least likely of circumstances. I think they found what so many are looking for. I recommend this book to anyone who, like me, sometimes need to be reminded what true love looks and feels like. Just don't forget your box of tissues.
Book Review: all time favorite novel Summary: 5 Stars
I first read this book after watching the movie and I'll admit that I had some reservations since I'm not a fan of tragedy, but I couldn't put this book down! I finished it in a matter of hours and for me the most tragic part of this story was that it had to end. Sparks is known for his romance novels but for me, I feel that this story had more to do about the individual journeys that his characters take then the actual romance of it all. Of course it's there, the book would be nothing without it, but what makes this story so special is that every time I read it I discover something that I didn't notice before. Not only do his characters touch your heart but it's easy to relate to them. It's refreshing to follow Landon's thoughts and see how the story plays out. Yes it's a sad ending but the growth that Landon and the people around him experience is what makes this book an all time favorite.
Book Review: The story (though familiar) works well and is memorable Summary: 5 Stars
The story is familiar but the execution of the story is extra-ordinary and memorable. Stories likes these stir up the emotions and makes you appreciate the people around you.
Don't let the simplicity of the story fool you. Simple stories like these are great. There are many romantic novels/books that can endure the test of time such as "The Notebook", "The Bridges of Madison County", etc. "A Walk to Remember" is one of these books.
Stories like this have enduring lessons such as:
* People can change to the better
* True love overcomes any differences
* It is better to find quality love in a limited time rather than a generic love that drags on.

Book Review: Learn from this movie Summary: 5 Stars
I loved this movie.
The young man was man "enough" to NOT go along with the crowd!
Once finding out that getting to know someone who was an outcast by others who thought they were somehow better, ( HA! ) turned out to be a life changing ( for the better, I might add ) event for him.
A love like no other, and a wonderful, positive influence in his life forever.
Go out of your way to be friends with others who are treated badly, or who are considered geeks, freeks, or whatever the term today is for someone the "popular" consider unworthy of their friendship.
You may be quite pleasantly surprised! If you can't approach them, try just giving them a genuine smile. That will be good enough to get you started! And you will love yourself more for it, I promise!

Book Review: Sparks at his best again........ Summary: 5 Stars
Well I have read 8 out of the 13 books that Sparks has out and I own all of them and I just finished this one and this is Sparks at his best. It has the Sparks trademarks with its love, drama, and tragedy. This is a true survivor story and it is one of my favorite. It really takes you into both of the characters life and it brings you to love both of them. It is a real tear jerker when it nears the end, although I would have liked to know more on the end I overall loved the book. It is one of his shorter books but alot happens in the few pages that it has and it will keep you hooked from the beginning. I as always must recommend you pick this book up if you are a Sparks fan or if you like love stories with alot of drama.
