Book Reviews of A Walk to RememberBook Review: A Beautiful, and Poignant Novel! Summary: 5 Stars
A WALK TO REMEMBER was a novel I checked out from the library because I was tired of fast-paced action novels by John Grisham and Tom Clancy (don't get me wrong; I love Grisham and Clancy). I like dramas and romances, so I checked this one out. It's the first Sparks novel I've read.
I was stunned. Not only was it intelligent and engrossing, but it pierced your soul; it could make you laugh and cry. The book tells the story of Landon Carter, a normal teenager who joins the crowds in stereotyping people, especially the preacher's daughter Jamie Sullivan. She is kind and generous and in no way warrants their behind-back teasing, and she doesn't know about it. But when dance dates are scarce, Landon finds himself asking Jamie. Little does he know that this small choice will lead to a moving chain of events the leads him spiraling into a touching romance that will change his life.
The author writes from first person veiw and honestly depicts life in a small town in the 50s; the widely spread innocence and growing new ideas. The book is engaging in its simplicity; it never tries to overdo any aspect. The novel never tries to be more than the straight-forward love story than it is, and that makes it all the more touching and tear-inducing. Sparks is a master at his trade, and I'm eager to read more of his books.
Highly recommended.
Book Review: One of Sparks' Greatest Love Stories Summary: 5 Stars
A Walk to Remember is probably one of Nicholas Sparks' greatest love stories - and if you're a fan of his work, you know that Sparks is not short on love stories. Though I am a huge fan of his writing, I sometimes feel that many of his books follow similar storyline structures and are sometimes predictable. However, this book is by far an exception! Right from the beginning, you are brought into Landon Carter's world of success and popularity and Jamie Sullivan's world as somewhat of a social outcast. Yet circumstances beyond their control bring them together and, soon after, they find themselves falling in love - certainly an unlikely romance. Okay, so I guess that sounds like a typical Nicholas Sparks' story, but I promise you this one will stand out above all others. The two teenagers, Landon and Jamie, are a perfect example of how opposites attract, but also prove that even teenage love can be real and life-changing as well. Though Jamie struggles to overcome her secret illness alone, Landon forces her to open up and allow for him to help her through her heartrending battles with leukemia. As I said before, this is an emotional and moving must-read novel by Nicholas Sparks. Just make sure you equip yourself with plenty of kleenex!

Book Review: A book to remember Summary: 5 Stars
This remains one of my favorite books by Nicholas Sparks -the master of spinning tearjerkers. Sure, many of his books do follow a familiar formula, but for me, there is something different about this one. Perhaps it has to do with the main characters, caught between the innocent trappings of youth and standing on the brink of adulthood. Some may think the love story of Landon and Jamie is sappy, hard-to-comprehend. They wonder how Landon, a self-absorbed kid with no purpose, could fall for sweet, ordinary, Bible-toting Jamie. Did I mention there's a strong Christian theme here? Not only is Jamie the daughter of a Baptist preacher, she outwardly lives her faith on a daily basis. That's what sets her apart from her peers, and that is what ultimately hooks Landon. Never underestimate the power of God. He can do marvelous things through His servants. This is not just a love story, but one of complete life transformation. I was fascinated at the personal changes in this young man as he struggled to find his true potential in life. This was one of those rare books that made me reflect on many things long after I had turned the last page......the love of God, the natural cycle of life and death, but mostly, our purpose here on Earth.
Book Review: A Walk to Remember Summary: 5 Stars
A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Spark
Have you ever felt how it feels to be in love? The book I read was "A Walk to Remember." The book was about how Landon fell in love with Jaime, a girl no one liked. He didn't want to admit it because he didn't want his friends to make fun of him. But, he didn't care he decided to go out with her, but Jaime rejected Landon's love. It was as if she knew he was going to fall in love with her even if she said not to. But why was Jaime rejecting Landon? Why had she told him not to fall in love with her? Is she scared of loving? Well read the book and find out.
I really loved this book because it was amazing. It was an easy book you can relate to the story and because it talks a lot about how love should really be. I enjoyed this book and I learned a lot about how people act, what they do and what they don't do. I recommend this book to girls and even guys who want to know about love and how to treat others the right way. So read it, if you enjoy love in reality but I tell you something the author said: "First you will smile and then you will cry"
Book Review: A book to remember Summary: 5 Stars
I must admit that when I began reading this book I was not all that interested; but thankfully I didn't. I was told that it was a wonderful book and a must-read, so I continued. By the time I finished it, I think I had also finished off a box of tissue.
Nicholas Sparks has a knack for writing beautiful novels (I would also recommend The Notebook and Message in a Bottle). This is definitely, in my opinion, his best yet. By the time I reached the 3rd or 4th chapter, I was hooked. I could not put it down. I had not seen the movie yet, so I really did not know the story except for the plot I read on Amazon's page.
This book is not only for teenagers, but adults will love it as well. If you like to read romantic novels, this is one you will never forget. I know I never will. Also, if you do read this book, have a box of tissues by your side. You'll know why after finishing the book.
