The book is wonderful. My son loves the story. However, I was disappointed that I received two books instead to one that I ordered. I was billed once by amazon and once by the book distributor. I didn't return the extra book because it was more trouble than it was worth and the book was so much fun that I decided to give the extra one away as a gift.

My two year old was semi-slow to warm up to this book, perhaps she was afraid of the bear? Now she asks for it nightly, and there is nothing quite as adorable as a two year old hollering, "Impossible! Insufferable! Intolerable!" It's worth twice its cover price, I would say it entertains 2 to 5 year olds and parents, too.Book Review: A Genuine Joy

This lovely book is both warm and silly. Grumpy bear dearly needs a friend and happy go-lucky mouse is most insistent that he shall be that friend -- despite bear's many, many efforts to divert mouse. This is an adorable book that my son loves and I'm sure we will love for many years. At a young age, readers can find the mouse and admire the artwork. As a child is older, this story is a wonderful example of sweetly polite dialogue. Then, later, a lesson is learned - friends are necessary and to be cherished.Book Review: Wonderful story

My 2 1/2 year old loves this book and asks for it often. Fun and clever story of a grumpy, lonely bear that finds that his life is much better when shared with a friend. Illustrations are also wonderful.
