Book Reviews of A Treasury of Knitting Patterns

Book Review: Great!
Summary: 5 Stars

So many fabulous designs - all well photographed and explained. An excellent book for any knitter!

Book Review: Stupendous Resource!
Summary: 5 Stars

My sister, knitting for 50 years, advised me that this would be the one most valuable book I could buy with my moderate knitting experience. The number of patterns described in the book is breath taking. The simple organization of the book is appreciated. The author's prose and content are superb, leaving the reader wanting for more information on the history of knitting.

Book Review: Great Book
Summary: 5 Stars

This is by far my favorite stitch pattern book. The pictures are great (even though they are black and white). The only down side is that none are written in charts. Would be nice to have some of them written this way too.

Book Review: A treasure indeed
Summary: 5 Stars

For anyone who creates their own knits, this is a must have resource. LOVE IT!!!

Book Review: It didn't get better than this.
Summary: 5 Stars

Printed in 1960's this pattern book has the orignal pattern instructions for Knit and Purl, Ribs, Cables, dual colors and lace patterns. I have explored many sitch pattern books -the library is very helpful with this project- and this book and the Harmony series books were the best,I like Harmony books for the color pictures.

This is the original. Others have been printed since however; they are presenting the same material. Clear pictures, instructions, and stories of where the stitches are from make this book a go to for my knitting.

I brought the "Treasury" to knitting circle and a long time knitter went right out and bought it. Her comments were that this was a keeper. She liked the patterns, there were ones she hadn't seen before, she loved the cable patterns and had to show her friend the lovely lace patterns.

If what I have said isn't convincing think about this, printed in the 1960's this book is so desired that in 2008 the average price is $30.
