Book Reviews of A Smart Girl's Guide to Friendship TroublesBook Review: I've Seen The Drama! Summary: 5 Stars
What A Great Idea for a preteen book.
I am a mother of three girls, and grandmother of four girls. I have seen the drama.
Here is a self-help book for pre-teen girls. A Smart Girls Guide to Friendship Troubles gives advice to girls. There are examples of problems which a girl could be faced with, along with snippets of advice from other girls, and at the end, it tells which solution the girl chose, and how the problem worked out.
There are quizzes on: A True Friend Test; Do You Speak Up? ; The Secret Test; Are You in A Toxic Friendship and How Much Are You Being Swayed by the Crowd?
This book often suggests for the girl to talk to her parents, and makes suggestions on how to talk about a problem.
My granddaughters are always making friends and finding out the friendship isn't a good match. This book will make friendship problems much easier for the girls to solve.
I intend to purchase several copies as Christmas gifts, this year.

Book Review: Very Helpful Book Summary: 5 Stars
Okay, so most of us girls have seen "Ask Fill-in-the-Blank" and "Advice Column". And most of us have heard "Fill-in-Name-of-Celebrity is going to be on Fill-in-Name-of-TV-Show tonight to give friendship advice". But most of it, though not all of it, isn't helpful. I found this book interesting and fun to read, while also very helpful. There were a lot of feelings and troubles that I could relate to, and a lot of good advice and stories that girls, having friendship troubles or not, need to read. The quizzes were fun to take, but I wouldn't take the results TOO, TOO seriously. They are about the most accurate quizzes there are friendship-wise, but if you listen too carefully to the ranking, rating, etc. you come out as, you could end up breaking off a friendship that could've been rescued. Overall, I think this book is both entertaining and useful at the same time. Though I don't agree with some of the things that they say, I think most of the advice was really good. I would recommend this book to all girls.
Book Review: I'M SMARTER NOW! Summary: 5 Stars
This story is about kids that have difficulties with their friends and try to get them back. The story that I'm reading doesn't have 1 character, it has millions of them. But most of all, my favorite character is JENNA. The setting is in a house, in a car, and in a school. My story also has lots and lots of photos and d it also has tests in it. I chose this book because it is helping me to realize about my friendship and the problems that I have with my friends. This is a book that teaches kids about friendship troubles and how to get your friends back. I enjoyed the part I read with JENNA and this new girl coming to the school that JENNA went to. But I know that this story doesn't have tragedy or anything. The author of this book I'm reading is PATTI KELLE and the illustrator is ANGELA MARTINI. This book makes me feel better now!
Book Review: Great resource for girls Summary: 5 Stars
I can't say enough about the American Girls books for this age and stage. This book came in very helpful when my daughter was going through a difficult time with a friend. It helped her identify what may have been going on in her friends' mind, and suggested a strategy to address it. Instead of the situation escalating, she was confident enough to work things out with her friend. This book also details when a friendship is 'toxic' so to speak, and what a 'real' friend is. Reading this book is helping my daughter navigate her way through those early 'tween' years, and the difficult situations that arise in friendships, as well as being aware of when someone is trying to take advantage of a friendship.
Book Review: Love These Books! Summary: 5 Stars
My daughter (age 9) was recommended these books after taking an Etiquette class. We ordered just about all the SMART GIRLS Books. They are SO GREAT! My daughter can't get enough of them. They are so very helpful with advice for the every day experiences that a girl has to deal with. The advice is Fantastic and worded exactly how a young girl needs it to be! I have a group of girls that I watch for the summer, and we are all going to read the books together as a group. I HIGHLY recommend these books. From divorce, to grooming, to friendship troubles, family relationships. They cover just about EVERYTHING! All these books are great!
