Book Reviews of A Manual of Laboratory and Diagnostic TestsBook Review: Disappointing.... Summary: 2 StarsI thought this book was going to be comprehensive. Instead, it seems at times superficial and outdated. I will give an example: The book claims that total T4, FTI, total T3, and TSH are the most useful tests for hyperthyroidism. You must be kidding? What about Free T4? You think total T3 is more important than free T3 in determining thyroxicosis that has a normal free T4? Frankly, I have no faith in this book. Maybe this is enough information for a nurse, but if you are a physician, look some place else. Don't make decisions based on some statements in this book because you'll be sorry. I'll be looking for a better book on lab tests!

Book Review: Fischbach Edition 8 Summary: 5 StarsGreat addition to my office. Explains some tests we use infrequently-good to explain to patients.
Book Review: Always the Best Summary: 5 StarsI started using Fischbach in Nursing School and was re-acquainted with it when I joined the Air Force. I have never found anything at all close to the quality of the content. I had a copy at the hospital until someone else recognized the quality of it for themselves. So I immediatly went out and bought another. I'm afraid I need another one at work. I don't mind everyone liking them. I just don't care to be the sole supplier to the world. I guess I will have to chain it to the inside of my locker.
Thanks
