Merry Gentry, heir to the UnSeelie throne is under pressure to get pregnant to beat her insane cousin Cel. Whoever gets pregnant first will rule the UnSeelie Court. In this book Taranis, Merry's Uncle, King of light and illusion of the Seelie court has finally lost it completely. From the beginning he goes off the deep end, attacking Merry's guards. He doesn't stop there.... While dealing with the injured guards, the goblin red caps and the Halfling warriors, Ash and Holly, come to the mansion in LA hoping for Merry to bring them into their former power and Sidhe powers. While that happens a terrible tragedy befalls Frost and it also comes with great news. Before she has time to process, Taranis steals Merry with awful plans in mind.
This is a considerably smaller book than the rest of the series, the erotica is way toned down. This book felt more like a gateway book to the next where all the issues, good and bad, will be dealt with in the next book. It was still good, justa little tid bit from the Merry Gentry world.
