Book Review: A Challenging Approach to Spirituality

Reading A Course in Miracles is, without question, a commitment. This book is a mind altering set of exercises that demands that the student give up traditional ideas of good and evil. In return, it provides the most wonderful method for rising above your fears and keeping the illusion of problems and other forms of negativity in its proper place.
It's been several years since I've read the book, but I find myself paraphrasing many of its memorable passages that apply so accurately to situations I face on a regular basis.
Approach this book with patience and an open mind. It truly is a miraculous and life altering read. It is aimed at those seeking life and freedom, not something that would interest the casual religious dabbler.

It is, in my humble opinion, the highest and best wisdom available on the planet today. While the material is not always the easiest to assimilate, because it moves beyond the generally accepted principles of life, the material contained therein will make your heart sing and spirit soar beyond anything you dreamed possible. What a life changing process this has become. This text will forever change the way you view yourself, your relationships and your purpose here. I can't say strongly enough how this material will transform you. I enjoy the softcover version. It is a durable cover, but flexible enough to "wrap behind" when you don't want to use two hands to hold. This is the latest version and I have noticed that if you are listening to some of the online text being read they utilize the older versions so sometimes the Chapters and Sub Chapters don't line up. I will say that having the printed book to read along with is a must have as the material is complicated enough that you will find yourself re-reading some passages.

A George Carlin quote that I have agreed with for years is: "If this is the best God can do, I"m not impressed. Results like these do not belong on the resume of a supreme being. This is the kind of stuff you'd expect from an office temp with a bad attitude. In any well-managed universe, this guy would have been out on his all-powerful a__ a long time ago." The Course explains why this is so.... God did NOT create this mess. Finally, something has helped me to understand this world. But to believe is not the same as to experience.
