Book Reviews of A Child Is BornBook Review: Wonderful for 1st Trimester Summary: 5 Stars
This book is perfect for all people expecting a baby. I recommend it especially for the first trimester as many parents to be are eager to learn about and connect with their unborn child. After the first trimester the updates are less frequent, but by then most parents have ultrasounds, are starting to show, and soon begin to feel the baby move so there is not as great of a need to find ways to connect through a picture book.
My husband and I have spent hours pouring over the pictures and just today were marveling at how far our baby has come since we first bought this book four weeks into the pregnancy :)
Book Review: The Amazing Story of Life Summary: 5 Stars
We purchased the original version of this book over 35 years ago when we were pregnant with our first child. We just purchased 2 of the current copies for our eldest and youngest who are now both pregnant. They were just thrilled to receive this gift. Each young couple immediately went to the chapter in the book dedicated to their "week" of pregnancy. They were totally enthralled with the pictures and the descriptions of how their babies were developing within their bodies. This is the perfect gift from prospective grandparents to their children. It is also a wonderful book to have on any family's bookshelf!
Book Review: Excellent Photography! Summary: 5 Stars
I remember seeing this book at the doctors office when I was 7 years old when my mom was pregnant with my brother at the time. she did not want me to look at the book (I guess she didnt want me to ask her questions). I saw this book and remembered the cover and decided that I wanted to own it. The pictures are outstanding and I find myself constantly going to look at the different stages as I am reaching them. I wasn't able to do this with my first daughter(now thirteen) but I am having the pleasure now with this pregnancy. Nice to own and also good to show an older child whats going on inside of mommy.
Book Review: A second generation Summary: 5 Stars
When my husband and I became pregnant with our first child 35 years ago, I volunteered in the embryology room at Fernbank Science Center in Atlanta, GA. This book was one we used in the exhibition. We bought it and adored following it week by week as our little one developed.
I am now buying the book for my daughter who just found out that she and her husband are expecting! I can think of no better book to help them enjoy the wonder of their growing baby! I highly recommend it to everyone who has a baby on the way!
Book Review: A classic Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this book 27 years ago when I was expecting my first child and when my daughter told me she was planning a family, I immediately purchased the updated version for her. This book remains a classic! The pictures are unbelievable and so beautiful and vivid. Because it's a European book, the childbirth pictures may be more graphic than what we are used to here in the States, but look beyond that to see the beauty and wonder of childbirth depicted in this amazing book. I highly recommend it!
