Book Reviews of A Charlotte Mason EducationBook Review: Catherine's books are most helpful Summary: 5 Stars
I have really enjoyed both of Catherine's books. The first book really intrigued me and piqued my interest in the Charlotte Mason method. It was so easy to apply! In her second book, More Charlotte Mason Education, she gave us a lot more information and how-to's. I really felt like I was learning a lot from these books, and that the author was writting on a personal level to me. I recommend this book to all of my friends even those who are not currently homeschooling.
Book Review: An excellent introduction Summary: 5 Stars
As someone that was in the dark about Charlotte Mason, this is an excellent overview. It gives the basics and a clear (short) overview of Ms. Masons theories. It was just enought to let me know if it is what I'm looking for... it is. So, now I have more reading recommendations and can go from here. I have to agree it is a light reading book, but that was what I was expecting. Unfortunately, the price doesn't correspond to contents.
Book Review: Learning Together Summary: 5 Stars
As I read this book in one sitting, I realized that it was the perfect tool for me. It is a great overview of what Charlotte Mason believed and applied in her schools. It immediately helped me utilize the CM approach and was well put, informative and applicable. I highly recommend this as a must read for anyone wanting to quickly learn and implement this approach.
Book Review: Thanks be to God for the friend who recommended this book! Summary: 5 Stars
What a great, simple into to the CM Method. I read it 2 months ago at the start of my research into homeschooling. It eased my fears and helped me see what questions I had to answer and what decisions I had to make. I am now ready to begin teaching, and I highly recommend the book as well as the website Ambleside online.
Book Review: Concise, Practical and Motivating Summary: 5 Stars
This book was such a "quick" read and yet made CM methods understandable in a fresh and practical way that made me feel like it was totally do-able without getting a degree in her methods. I highly recommend this book for anyone who has wanted to try CM or has dabbled in it and would like to do more. Love it.
