Book Reviews of 7th Heaven (Women's Murder Club)Book Review: A Terrific and Satisfying Thriller Summary: 5 Stars
This a fast-moving and engrossing thriller. It is vintage Patterson and Paetro, and it is a fine addition to the Women's Murder Club Series. As usual, it grabs you on the first page and won't let go. You have the usual, short chapters (really scenes) that contribute to rapid development of the story. San Francisco Police Detective Sergeant Lindsay Boxer faces two cases. In the first, the son of the former Governor of California is missing, and a prostitute is suspected in his death. In the second, a pair of college students are talking their way into homes, robbing the owners, tying them up, and burning them to death by setting the house on fire. (It makes you think twice about answering a knock at your door, doesn't it?) Lindsay and her buddies solve the cases, but not without some startling twists in the story. I must note one other thing about the book. It reads smoothly. Recently, I have encountered books by other authors filled with distracting typos and bad grammar. In contrast, the writing in 7th Heaven is crisp and error-free. Thank you, James Patterson, Maxine Paetro, and the editors at Little Brown. For readers who like thrillers, this is a great one.
Book Review: Kidnapping, Arson and Murder, Fast-Paced & Very Good Summary: 5 Stars
The Woman's Murder Club is made up of Detective Lindsay Boxer, Assistant D.A. Yuki Castellano, Medical Examiner Claire Washburn and Reporter Cindy Thomas, so when these girls sink their teeth into a crime in San Francisco, Criminal lookout.
In this outing popular and well liked Michael Campion, son of the past Governor of California has been kidnapped. We learn fairly soon that hooker Junie Moon was present when Michael was killed, but did she do it?
Meanwhile some guys named Pidge and Hawk are burning down the houses of the wealthy, while the wealthy are still in them, and that'll get the attention of the SFPD real quick, crispy rich people.
So there you have the crimes the gals are going to dig into when you dig into this fast paced book (and the pace is made even faster by Mr. Patterson's short chapters: 376 pagers cut up into a whopping 125 chapters. You can do the math, they're short.) I read the book in one sitting, just couldn't put it down.
Book Review: Another great read from Patterson and Paetro Summary: 5 Stars
Another great book from Patterson and Paetro. I really enjoyed reading this book, even in the wee hours of the night.
Lindsay Boxer has her hands full with two very complicated cases, in one hand she has the disappearances and possibly the murder of a teenage boy, Michael Campion, who happens to be the son of a recent California governor. Lindsay is lead to the home of a prostitute that Michael was last seen going to. The confession of the young girl is gruesome and the trial that comes next is excellent. On the other hand, someone is setting fire to some of the most beautiful homes in San Francisco, robbing and leaving the home owners to burn to death. Not to mention there is a huge personal lose to Lindsay in the the middle of all the action that left me shocked.
To give away the ending would be a crime to do so...but i have to say it was the most well thought out closing to a book that i have read in awhile. definitely a great read. Well done.
Book Review: Fantastic Summary: 5 Stars
I had been waiting for this entry into the series for a while and was not the least bit disappointed! Talk about quick moving. I don't appreciate slow stories that take a while to get going. This one gets your heart pumping from the first pages until the very last. Each and every character is well developed and you enter their world as if it is your own. I found myself wanting to skip ahead so many times and had to force myself not to. This is the writing style of old for Patterson, the only thing I could have wanted more, would be that it lasted longer. It felt short, but when you want the answers so much, as I did in this story, you kind of are happy the ending comes a bit quick.

Book Review: Well Worth A Year of Waiting! Summary: 5 Stars
San Francisco Detective Lindsay Boxer and her friends in the Women's Murder Club join up once again to help solve a case of arsons in a series of wealthy neighborhoods. Several innocent people are murdered and the only evidence left behind is a book with a latin inscription at each of the crime scenes.
At the same time, Lindsay is working on a case of a missing former governor's son. He was last seen entering the house of a known prostitute. A tip is discovered, but ultimately falls through leaving Lindsay, her partner Rich Conklin, and good friend and member of the Women's Murder Club, ADA Yuki Castellano desperately scrambling for more leads.
In true Patterson style, 7th Heaven is full of twists, turns, and surprises.
