Book Reviews of 1945

Book Review: Here is a thought.........Just read the book and enjoy it.
Summary: 5 Stars

This is not a Tom Clancy knock off because he doesn't do alternative history and this is historically a reach because this isn't an historically correct book. It's alternative history. One should also forget who wrote/co-wrote the book if they have issues with either one of them.
People who read this and didn't like it because of the afore mentioned reasons must have smashed thier heads thru the wall after watching NBC's version of Noah's Ark or burned any one of J.R.R. Tolkien's books because of improper use of the English language.
Read the book and enjoy it. This is a great and fun book to read. If you are into the Luftwaffe '46 genre craze and/or into any ALTERNATIVE HISTORY and know the difference between reality and FICTION then you will enjoy this book and hope that the sequel is eventually published. I don't know the story as to why a publisher hasn't picked up the sequel yet, and it's not because someone thinks the book is bad, but we can only hope it does get picked up.
I just hope a sequel to 'Down to the Sea' from the Lost Regiment series eventually comes out.

Book Review: simply awsome
Summary: 5 Stars

Among the best historical science fiction novels that I have ever read. I desperately hope that the sequal promised at the end of this exciting work will actualy one day be writen and published!

Book Review: A great concept and an exciting plot collide.
Summary: 4 Stars

Once you get into 1945, you won't want to put it down as the stakes raise, the action keeps rising and the plot thickens in a story that might have become history. The United States emerges from World War II the victors over Japan and the far east, however the United States never battled Germany, who now controls Europe and has its eye on Soviet Union, or maybe they now have the US in their sites as they left as the only two remaining super powers.

The characters in the story are a little one sided but still very good. Twist and turning sub plots and action they engage in easily make up any shortfalls in the charatchers though for it and make the novel interesting and exciting. The only downside is that the sequel for the book has yet to be written and may never be. However, don't let it stop you from reading 1945 for its stand alone value.

What makes the book interesting is that for the most part is its use of real historical characters, political and military, of the time, a few are made up as needed, but for the most part, it helps make the novel seem highly real.

It's 1945, but it could have been our future...

Book Review: We need the sequel
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a very entertaining read. I really hate that the sequel has not been forthcoming. The main character in this book reminds me of a Chuck Norris-type character a la Invasion USA or Missing in Action. I think the scenario seemed possible given the exact circumstances described in the book and I would like to know the ending of the story. I want to encourage the authors to make the sequel an ebook like Stephen King has done if the publisher still refuses to publish the sequel.

Book Review: Tom Clancy imitation
Summary: 2 Stars

The premise of the book is intriguing, but the execution failed. This reads like a bad copy of a Tomy Clancy novel. Having James Bond-like special ops running during WWII is already a bit of a deviation from the period norm, and of course the good guys dodge bullets. It was light reading, though, and I got through it in a day.
