Book Reviews of 101 MartinisBook Review: Not all Martini's, but a Nicely Made Book with Great Ideas! Summary: 4 Stars
Not all of the drinks in this book are technically Martini's, however it is nicely put together. The recipes are well written and the accompanying photos (and there's one for every drink) are beautifully done. I bought this for my roommate after having seen it at Crate and Barrel (I knew Amazon would have a better price, of course!) and she loved it. I haven't yet tried any of the drinks, but having taken Mixology and majored in Culinary Arts, I knew the recipes would produce tasty libations based on ingredient combinations.
As stated, however, some of the "martinis" are really just cocktails in martini glasses, but it's all in good fun anyway, isn't it?
Book Review: 201 Martinis are better than 101 Summary: 3 Stars
I like 201 martinis better, but I don't regret buying this book. You don't own only one cook book, do you? Having multiple different recipe books on hand is, well, handy. I could compare features of the two books, but I would rather just encourage you to buy them both to get free super saver shipping and start experimenting with and enjoying your cocktails. Nice photos. But if you insist, it is the ingredient index and greater number of recipe's that makes me like 201 better.
Book Review: Nice-looking book, but no index Summary: 2 Stars
This is a fun and beautiful little book. But it's not very user-friendly because there is no index. For instance, if you would like to find a recipe for a pumpkin martini or if you want to see if there are martini recipes with cranberry or lemon, you have to flip through the entire book. Who puts together a recipe book with no index?
Book Review: useless Summary: 1 Stars
No index fore or aft, no system, nothing much to offer but cute photos. Do they imagine someone is going to browse this for recipes, or is it just a throwaway stocking stuffer?
