Book Review: A suberbly illustrated book - fun for parents and kids alike

My twins pull this book out every night for me to read, and it's the one book I never tire of either. The detail of the illustrations is wonderful. Every page has so much going on, that we can read it over and over and find something new. However, there is also a lot of consistency. My girls love to show me the hamster kicking a ball on every page, and know all the quotes uttered by the baby hamster. The text is simple enough ("10 minutes til bedtime; 9 minutes til bedtime". . . )so that toddlers can read it to themselves, but the pictures are exciting enough to interest a much older child (or adult). I would recommend this book to anyone with children.Book Review: Not as good as "Good Night, Gorilla" by the same author.

I had high hopes for this book after reading "Good Night, Gorilla", but was disappointed. The "story" is just plain weird. The text seems to be geared towards a 2 year old, yet the illustrations are too busy for a toddler.Book Review: 10 Minutes till Bedtime are the best minute of the day!

I should have read the editorial reviews a little more closely before I bought this book to know what I was getting for my 4 year old. Pictures are wonderful, very detailed-but it's all pictures. I really enjoyed the book "Ten Minutes Till Bedtime". It's funny how the simple things can have such profound imfluence on the way we view our lives. When I read this book it made me laugh inside, because bedtime sometimes can be a big ordeal. I am in my early twenties so I don't have a bedtime, but this book brought back memories of when I was young. Peggy Rathman is a wonderful writer. This book not only takes the reader on an adventure, but turns bedtime into a not-so-serious event. The bright illustrations add to the tale of a boy and his hamster. I would recommend this to all those kids out there that dread bedtime. This book will make them laugh and possibly think twice about throwing tantrums at bedtime!
